James was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from Terry Parker Sr. High School in 2004 and moved to Tallahassee for college. He started off at Tallahassee Community where he was an editor of the student newspaper, the Talon. He received an Associate in Arts Degree for General Studies in December 2013. James immediately transferred to Florida State University and eventually decided to major in Interdisciplinary Social Science. He was a vice president in the Inter-Residence Hall Counsel and a member of the World Affairs Program. James concentrated his undergraduate studies in political science, geography and public administration. He was a seasonal employee at the TCC campus bookstore and a public policy intern at the Florida State Capitol. He graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Social Science. He is a member of the FSU Alumni Association and a supporter of the CARE programs. 

James temporarily lived in Panama City Beach before returning to Tallahassee to work for United States Census Bureau. He reenrolled at FSU to study philosophy, but chose to go to law school instead of completing a second bachelor's degree. James returned to Jacksonville and started law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2011. He was one of a handful of legacy students because his mother, Carol M. Galloway, Esquire, graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2001. James excelled in international law courses and studied abroad in Saigon, Vietnam. He was also a student representative in the Student Bar Association. He interned at James Krause, P.A. during his 3L year where he did legal research for federal contracts cases. He graduated from law school in May 2013. After graduating, he began working at the Law Offices of Carol M. Galloway, P.A. as a bankruptcy clerk. He was hired as an associate attorney in April 2014.   

James is a naturally caring and altruistic person. Shortly after receiving his license to practice law, he began accepting clients from the Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. on a pro bono basis. The majority of his clients needed assistance with their immigration paperwork and he began studying the U.S. immigration laws. He successfully assisted several clients complete the naturalization process and attended there Oath of Allegiance Ceremonies where they became U.S. Citizens. In 2015, James started the Immigration Law Division at the Law Offices of Carol M. Galloway, P.A. where he handled family-based immigration cases. In additional to naturalization, he assisted his clients petition for immigrant visas, visa extensions, adjustment of status to permanent resident, petition to remove conditions on residence, application to replace permanent resident card, fiancée & fiancé visas and asylum. He is currently a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association - Orlando and Bangkok Chapters. 


In July 2017, James decided to establish the Galloway Law Firm of Ponte Vedra Beach, PLLC. He is managing partner of the firm and has expanded his areas of practice beyond immigration. In addition immigration, James also practices family law and civil litigation. He has represented his clients in adoption cases, dissolution of marriage, business disputes, civil rights, personal injury and injunctions against violence. He has also drafted legal documents such as wills & advance directives and power of attorney. James has also handled employment based immigration cases involving L-1A Executive, EB-1 Extraordinary Ability and EB-5 Investor Visas. His goal is to continue to provide honest, reliable and affordable legal representation. He is an honorary, alumni initiate in the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and is the legal adviser for the Eta Psi Chapter at the University of Central Florida. His hobbies include computers and socializing with friends at the Jacksonville Landing. He occasionally attends the home games of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
